Becky Olson

Becky Olson is a five time cancer survivor, professional speaker, founder of Breast Friends non-profit and the Breast Friends radio show. Additionally she is an inspirational mom, grandmother, wife and friend. Her cancer has returned for a sixth time and this time it’s spread, but that’s not stopping Becky. She’s still completely focused on the things she loves: her family, her work, and checking more things off her bucket list.

She was born in Alaska and moved around the country with her family, following her father’s military career including spending time in Colorado as a kid. She went to college in Seattle, which is where she met her husband on a boat, as of course you do in Seattle. Becky was technically on a date with another guy when her future husband spotted her, but that didn’t stop him from introducing himself. They fell in love, settled outside of Portland, Oregon and raised five children.

Becky always loved being on stage and hamming it up whenever possible. She initially launched her speaking career focusing on sales, but when she received her first cancer diagnosis in 1996, her new topic of Hope Through Breast Cancer became a much more powerful conversation. Since then she’s toured the US speaking to cancer patients, survivors, doctors and churches about the Happiness, Humour and Hope that is still available to anyone going through a cancer journey. Today her goal is for her radio show to be heard in all 50 states and as many countries as possible.
