Marjan Koosha Johnson

Marjan Koosha Johnson was born in the U.K. to Iranian parents, both of whom made there way to London following their own paths of opportunity and curiosity. She grew up in the UK until the age of six when she and her family moved to Southern California for her father’s job. The transition was initially hard. Having an accent while missing her friends and dignified school uniforms created for Marjan the first time she felt separate from her community. She assimilated flawlessly, however and to no surprise of those who know her.

Today’s she a 3rd year medical student. After getting her undergraduate and master’s degrees at U.C. Irvine, she realized that instead of medical research she in fact had a calling for being with patients and in clinic. She’s currently choosing between focusing in either Dermatology and Psychology.

When not studying for medical school, which as you can imagine is not often, Marjan loves yoga, spending time with her husband, and being outside as much as possible from local hikes to camping with friends. She also loves all the celebrations, great food, and community that comes along with being Persian.
