Jillian Clark

Jillian Clark grew up outside of Boston loving ballet and dreamed of being a dancer. While at UMass Amherst he took a history of fashion class and her world was changed. She was so enthralled in how the turn of events in history changed fashion and styling and what we wore. She took a few more costume design classes and changed her major from dance to an independent study major mixing costume and design for theater and ballet.

After school she chased every internship who would have her and she landed a job at her dream company, the Boston Ballet. From there she left for Los Angeles to work in costumes for film and t.v. After the last presidential election, she knew she had to take a more active role in the issues that matter to her. She investigated the impact of fashion on the plant and was horrified. Instantly she knew she could play a role in sustainability in film, tv and fashion.

Today she runs Roboro 6, an upcycling apparel and accessories company. They take extra materials and scraps from film sets, factories and more to produce brand new, beautiful new products. When the Covid 19 pandemic started to hit the United States, Jillian saw another opportunity to lean in to what matters to her. She pivoted her business from sewing apparel and accessories to creating face masks for front line medical staff and individuals.

Visit roboro6.com to sponsor masks for medical professionals on the front line or to purchase your own upcycled face masks. To learn more about Jillian, hear her story and learn more about her medical school journey, listen to her episode of Powerful Ladies Podcast.
