Melisa D. Monts

Melisa D. Monts is the epitome of the modern day Hollywood boss lady. She’s a multipreneur working in t.v., film and podcasting in pretty much every space possible - writing, producing, screenwriting, co-hosting and leading a team of creatives making more awesome work. When she’s not showing everyone what hustle looks like at work, she’s volunteering in Los Angeles with causes that matter to her - Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Happy Period, Food Forward and This Is About Humanity. We’re pretty sure she has a secret extra 100 hours a week than the rest of us, but she swears that’s not true.

Born in Little Rock, AK, she moved around growing up before ending back up in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She went to the University of Arkansas and studied biology thinking she would become a dentist. She hated it. She switched and took a playwriting class and then a screenwriting class. That’s where the spark happened and she switched majors. She came out to Los Angeles to work on student projects which solidified her love for screenwriting. She saved up her money and a few years later moved to L.A. to study filmmaking at UCLA.

Since then she’s been a yes to opportunities from internships, contract work, full time work and side projects. She is redefining hustle and how being a yes to yourself and your passion results in success. Movies she’s produced are available on Amazon. She’s currently working on three successful podcasts, one of which she co-hosts. She has a team working on her own creative projects.
