Ashley Telleen
Ashley Telleen is committed to not just providing justice for her clients but to changing their lives. With a legal system that leaves gaps for those without the knowledge, funds or awareness, she and her partner Lauren at Butler Telleen Law Firm are there to fill the gaps.
While working in L.A. as a stage manager for Disney studios, Ashley realized that she wanted to do more and lean in on her passions for civic and political matters. With a two year old in tow, she moved back to Colorado and started at UC Boulder Law School. She thought it would lead her into politics and that all changed when she completed her first mock trial and realized she wanted to be a Criminal Defense Attorney.
Early in law school she also had the opportunity to be part of the Colorado Innocence Project. Seeing how easily the innocent could be accused, mis-tried, and convicted she understood that to be the real “white knights” of the justice system were the defense attorney’s.
After school she worked as a public defender and loved it. Being able to defend those who needed it most spoke to her sense of duty, responsibility and being of service. The long hours, however did not allow her to fulfill all her commitments as a single working mom. She and her best friend from law school, Lauren Butler, and how colleague at her current employer started talking about what it would be like to open their own firm.
Then they made the jump. The Law Firm of Butler Telleen opened this past year. They serve clients in Denver and Boulder, Colorado. They specialize in Criminal Defense bringing justice to those who need it most. Best of all, as two female leaders, they’re designing a law firm that operates with flexibility and fluidity between all parts of their life so they can get back to loving what they do and loving their life.
