Lauren Butler is committed to not just providing justice for her clients but to changing their lives. With a legal system that leaves gaps for those without the knowledge, funds or awareness, she and her partner Ashley at Butler Telleen Law Firm are there to fill the gaps.
While working in L.A. as a Video Game Producer Lauren felt a calling to make more of an impact. Initially she applied for the Peace Corps, but was rejected for her lack of real world experience her career in video games had provided her per the admissions team. To earn more “experience” she started volunteering for nature and environmental organizations. Inspired by all the work there is to do to right the environmental ship, Lauren decided to go to law school to be an environmental lawyer.
At the University of Colorado Boulder Law School, she met Ashley Telleen her law school bff. Equally impactful, during her first day of Criminal Law Class she pivoted into criminal law. She set her eyes on being a Prosecutor.
After school she quickly became a District Attorney. She worked in both the public and private side. In both civil and criminal. She began to fall in love with criminal defense because, “Being a defense attorney is more aligned with being fair, right and just than the prosecutor path.” She and her best friend from law school, Ashley, and a colleague at her current employer started talking about what it would be like to open their own firm.
Then they made the jump. The Law Firm of Butler Telleen opened this past year. They serve clients in Denver and Boulder, Colorado. They specialize in Criminal Defense bringing justice to those who need it most. Best of all, as two female leaders, they’re designing a law firm that operates with flexibility and fluidity between all parts of their life so they can get back to loving what they do and loving their life.
